Objectives of the Society

 

The Long Melford Historical & Archaeological Society was formed in 1969 with the objectives to acquire, preserve and publish information on objects of historical importance

​

To oppose and preserve as far as practicable, any loss or threats to buildings and antiquities

​

To act as custodian of documents, artefacts or finds

​

To stimulate interest in the history of Long Melford
