Archive Group
We have set up an archive group to catalogue our extensive collection of
documents, books, photographs etc.
This catalogue is available to download by clicking this link:
To search for keywords, please enable editing, select the entire spreadsheet and use Ctrl F.
If you wish to see any of the items listed, we would be happy for you
to join us at one of our monthly meetings to view the document. Please email your request, including the item number shown in the first column: lmhas1969@outlook.com
A donation to our funds would be very welcome, to enable us to purchase the archival stationery, to ensure the documents are kept in the best condition.
If you would like to join this group and help to catalogue the remaining items, please email us.

Long Melford Heritage Trust
If you are researching your family history or previous residents of your house, our friends over at the Long Melford Heritage Trust have an excellent resource on their website.
After many years of painstaking research and analysis highlighting the lives and achievements of over 1000 men and women connected with the village, the website now includes the family trees and associated stories.
To use this free resource, go to the Long Melford Heritage Centre webpage at https://melfordheritage.org.uk/family-history/ (figure1) and click on the first letter of the surname you require e.g. ‘A’ for Ambrose, this will then open a list of all the families in that group (figure 2) find the name you require. Using the example of Ambrose, this will take you to a page with forty individual biographies, photographs and family trees.

Of the 550 family groups identified as living in or associated with Long Melford over the years, 470 are already on the Heritage Centre website. We are constantly updating our archive and would welcome your help with more photographs and family stories.
